    looking for a great set of stainless steel cookware?

    I’m looking to buy a set of stainless steel cookware today to replace some non-stick ones that were a total joke. I don’t want ANY MORE non-stick materials stratching up and then flaking off into the food! I want something with a high quality…like with an aluminum or copper core…without having to sell off a kid or two as slaves! I was reading up on all clad and calphalon and then found this review for cusinart here: http://www.only-cookware.com/stainless_steel_cookware.html that has me thinking maybe I’ll go with them. (The ladies that wrote the review don’t sell them, by the way.)
    Here are 4 sets I’m looking at …. but they vary a lot in price! Could someone take a look and tell me what you think? I would SO APPRECIEATE IT!

      Kitchen Pots for a Christmas present?

      I know NOTHING about kitchen cookware brands or which type is better… I’m shopping at JCPenney or Macy’s most likely, unless one of you tell me otherwise. My boyfriend’s mom really wants new pots for her kitchen, and I really would like to get them for her for Christmas.           My stainless steel pan is driving me nuts!?

          As a little more experienced of a cook, I thought that I would do fine with an All-Clad tri-ply stainless steel 10" or so skillet.

          It does meat okay (but sometimes it leaves a little brown mark), but so far eggs have been a disaster and the hash browns did nothing but stick last night which made me so mad.

          Yes, I use cooking fats, yes I’ve experimented with different heats, and no I don’t scratch up the pan. The eggs are by far the worst. They stick like no other and the last time I cooked them it took me 40 minutes to scratch off the film with my nails.

          What’s going on here? Is there something I don’t know about? Do I suck? Maybe it’s because the stove here is electric?
          Oh thanks! I’ll pick up a little non-stick too then.

          Someone said the pan is cheap, but I don’t think so. It’s pretty much the same as better brands. Aluminum sandwhiched between two layers of steel. And it works pretty well with other things. Does anyone else not like All-Clad? Because I was going to pick up their full set.

                I need to do a lot of large saute. Aluminum is less expensive, but I don’t know that I trust it. Is premium stainless worth the extra cost?

                  cookware for smoothtop stove?

                  There is a lot of this on the Web, but I’m looking for personal experience. We have a Ceramic cook-top stove. Many of the 13 and 14 inch skillets we buy warp within a year, making them useless on a smooth glass cook top. They are all in the range, aluminum, anodized aluminum and with non stick interiors.
                  Interestingly my 25 year old Farberware skillet is good as new, leading me to believe that a stainless steel or stainless steel clad skillet would be much less likely to warp. (Thats when Farberware was still made in the the Bronx ! )
                  Question is what really is the best cookware to use on a glass cook-top that won’t warp on high heat
                  ???
                  I would invest in a brand like All Clad but dont want to spend the $$ if it too will warp.

                    What is the best cookware for ceramic glass cook top range?

                    I have a GE Hotpoint Ceramic Glass cook topp range, and I am in the market for new cookware. I recently puchased some "Farberware" Silverstone pots and pans. (not really Farberware afterall) They are alumnium, nonstick on the inside, and coated with red enamel on the outside. My first attempt at using them, I made a grilled cheese, on medium heat, and some of the red enamel from the skillet melted off and stuck to my cook top. Needless to say, I will be returning the set. I read in the manuel that heavy aluminum or stainless steel are reccommended. Any suggestions for a better brand or type of cookware?
